Memberships

Memberships let you keep some pages for signed-in members, such as a newsletter archive, a resource library, or a client area. There’s one kind of member; paid plans and tiers aren’t built in.

Under Settings → Memberships, tick Turn on memberships and choose Who can join:

  • Only people you invite (the default): invite members under People & Access → Invite someone with the Member role.
  • Anyone: visitors can sign up at /account/signup. They confirm their email and choose a password. If the site has the bot check turned on (see Extensions → Forms), visitors pass it before signing up.

Members sign in at /account/login. At /account they can change their password or delete their account. Members never see the admin.

Tick Members only in the page’s settings, then publish as usual. The change goes through drafts, reviews, and scheduling like any other.

Visitors who aren’t signed in see the page title, its search description, This page is for members., and a Sign in to read it button. Staff always see everything.

Members-only pages are kept out of search engines and the sitemap. The site’s own search finds them by title only, and listings show an excerpt only if you wrote one explicitly. Don’t put anything in the title or excerpt that should stay private.

Members are listed with everyone else under People & Access → People, with the Member role. Suspend a member there to pause their access, or remove them to delete their account.
