AI assistance
If your site has AI assistance turned on, you’ll see a few extra buttons. If you don’t see them, it’s switched off; it needs to be set up on the server (see below).
AI only ever suggests or drafts. Nothing it writes is published automatically, and anything you keep becomes an ordinary draft that you can compare and undo in History.
| Where | Button | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Content list | Draft a page with AI | Describe what the page should say (and optionally the language); Write a draft creates an unpublished draft and opens it. |
| Editor → AI assistance | Suggest a search title and description | Proposes search fields. Edit them, then Save as a new draft. |
| Editor → languages bar | Translate with AI | Creates an unpublished translated draft. |
| Media → an image | Suggest alt text with AI | Fills in the alt text. Nothing is saved until you choose Save. |
Always read what the AI wrote before publishing. It can get facts wrong.
Each person can make a limited number of AI requests per hour. If you see You’ve used your AI requests for this hour, try again later.
For administrators
Section titled “For administrators”AI assistance uses Anthropic’s Claude. To turn it on, whoever runs the server sets:
| Setting | |
|---|---|
ANTHROPIC_API_KEY |
Required. Without it, no AI buttons appear. |
AI_MODEL |
Optional. Defaults to claude-opus-5-5. |
AI_RATE_LIMIT |
Requests per person per hour (default 60). |
Content is sent to Anthropic only when someone presses one of the buttons above. Every AI request is recorded in the activity log.
